Shipping policy
Shipping Policy – Hardwick Heavy Machinery
1. Scope
This Shipping Policy applies to all purchases of machinery, parts, and accessories made through Hardwick Heavy Machinery in Australia. By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy, which operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
2. Processing & Dispatch
-
Orders are generally processed within 3–7 business days after full payment is received, unless otherwise stated.
-
Custom-built or pre-ordered machinery may have extended lead times. Estimated dispatch times will be communicated at the time of order confirmation.
-
All goods are inspected prior to dispatch to ensure they are in merchantable condition.
3. Shipping Methods & Carriers
-
We use reputable carriers and freight companies suitable for heavy and oversized machinery, including road freight and specialised equipment movers.
-
The choice of carrier is at our discretion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
Where applicable, tracking details will be provided once the order is dispatched.
3A. Estimated Delivery Timeframes
-
Delivery generally occurs within 7–30 business days from dispatch.
-
Domestic (Australia): Local deliveries within the same state or to nearby metropolitan areas are usually fulfilled at the lower end of this range, while deliveries to other parts of Australia may take longer.
-
International: Shipments outside Australia typically take longer due to international line-haul, customs clearance, and the local carrier network.
-
Please note: all delivery timeframes are estimates only. Factors such as peak demand, weather events, industrial action, site access, and carrier capacity may affect actual delivery times.
4. Shipping Costs
-
Shipping costs are calculated based on weight, dimensions, delivery location, and service type.
-
Freight quotes are provided prior to order confirmation and are binding once accepted by the customer.
-
Customers are responsible for any additional costs related to:
-
Tail-lift deliveries
-
Site access restrictions
-
Re-delivery fees if delivery cannot be completed on the agreed date
-
5. Delivery & Risk
-
Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery to the nominated address or upon collection from our premises.
-
Customers (or their authorised representatives) must be present at the delivery site to sign for the goods.
-
Delivery dates are estimates only. While we take reasonable steps to meet them, we are not liable for delays caused by freight providers, weather events, or other factors beyond our control.
6. Damaged or Missing Goods
-
Customers must inspect goods upon delivery and note any visible damage on the delivery docket before signing.
-
Claims for transit damage, shortages, or incorrect items must be reported in writing within 5 business days of delivery.
-
We will work with the carrier and the customer to resolve claims in accordance with the ACL and carrier terms.
7. Insurance
-
Standard freight charges do not include insurance unless specifically requested and paid for by the customer.
-
Customers are strongly encouraged to request transit insurance for high-value machinery. If declined, the customer accepts responsibility for any loss or damage in transit.
8. International Shipping
-
For exports, customers are responsible for compliance with local import laws, duties, and taxes.
-
Title and risk transfer upon handover to the international freight forwarder.
9. Returns & Consumer Rights
-
Change-of-mind returns are not accepted for machinery purchases.
-
Under the Australian Consumer Law, customers are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if goods are faulty, unsafe, not fit for purpose, or not as described.
-
Return freight costs for warranty claims may be covered by us if the product is confirmed to be faulty. Otherwise, the customer bears the cost.
